problems with geothermal heat pump, and installer?

Lee t asked:

I have a 3 year old house, I built it myself, I started in 2005 and finished in 2006. I hired a HVAC contractor to install the BARD geothermal heat pump. It is model number GSVS-242A. He was busy starting a metal stamping business at the time, and I had a really hard time getting him to get anything done because of that. I had first contacted him in July of 05, he finally got the heat pump to my house in October, and finished the duct work by feb 06. This was all somewhat acceptable because I did not get the interior of the house done until march. After that I could not get him back to hook up the plumbing to the ground loop. So I ended up doing it myself in June of 06.

Now, more recently, In sept of 08, the air conditioning quit working. I called the installer who started the installation, amazingly he came right out. He adjusted the refrigerant levels in it and it worked better for a little while, but now it is not working at all again, and now the installer is not returning any of my calls. I have been really nice to him, have kept my cool, and tried very hard not to **** him off. I emailed bard, the manufacturer a couple weeks ago, the forwarded my email to another installer, who called me immediately. I talked to him for about 20min. He said he would call me back after thinking about it for a while, because he was not sure what the problem was. well it has been two weeks and no call.

I really need to get this fixed. It has a 5 year guarantee on it. It will probably be voided since I installed it, at this point I don’t really care. When the original installer came out to see what was wrong with it, he said the installation looked fine, he couldn’t see anything wrong with the installation. The original installer thought there was something wrong with the compressor, and then later he thought there was a leak in the water coil. I just went down to see what I could find and it does look like there was something leaking in the bottom of the cabinet. I am comfortable doing almost anything, I can sweat solder very well, but I don’t know if could replace a compressor, or water coil.

I would really appreciate any help you can give regarding getting the factory, or installer to fix it, or if there is anything I can do to fix it. If there is any one else out there, that would like to come take a ***** at it. thanks
I have called a few people, and they don’t want to touch it. I did tell them the history though. There are very few people in the area qualified to work on geothermal heat pumps. I guess I can try some more.
